Building a socially inclusive business together with our stakeholders, all along our value cycle.
For Danone, a healthier future starts with building a socially inclusive approach for the groups and communities our business reaches. Across our work, we seek the best ways of including the many rather than just the few. We have specific projects dedicated to extending our reach and we put social inclusion principles at the very heart of our many programs – especially our social innovation projects.
These principles are applied all along the Danone value cycle where we work with small local suppliers that, today, do not always have access to the formal economy. From the farmers, villagers and street vendors, micro distributors and with care givers who provide access to health and education to many of our consumers. The wellbeing and success of individuals and small organizations are core to our business. As we look at creating circular economy we find more solutions. We have developed partnerships with the waste pickers networks, we are building new business relationships with those small economic local actors along our value cycle, and by doing so we are contributing positively to the development of the places where we operate.
We also develop product offers targeted for the most vulnerable communities so that we bring health through food to all consumer groups and fulfill our mission.
