Everyday, when we eat and drink, we can make a choice about our health and wellbeing. It is also a choice about the future we want to build - because food is grown in nature by people and has the potential to create inclusive growth and thriving communities around the world.

But the way today’s global food system has developed doesn’t always support health or sustainability. Rising populations worldwide face growing challenges to feeding themselves whilst improving peoples livelihoods and protecting the natural environments we all depend upon.

We want to help solve these challengesand believe that healthy food produced sustainably has the power to build a healthier future for everyone we work with, and for the world around us. Working with our 100,000 employees to make that vision a reality will make us a healthy and successful company.

Inspired by the Danone mission and expressed in our Manifesto, we have three sustainability goals:

Better Health – We aim to support healthier eating and drinking behaviors that nourish individuals socially as well as culturally. This is our approach to “alimentation”.

Better Lives – Every day, our business touches millions of lives, from our employees and consumers to farmers and suppliers. We take an inclusive approach, and aim for a positive impact with everyone we work with and for.

Better World – Healthy food begins with healthy nature. We aim for sustainable farming, healthier water cycles, net zero carbon and to give all our packaging a second life.

Danone cannot reach these aims alone, and we have always worked with local partners to co-build our solutions. We know that food is cultural, communities have local needs and natural ecosystems are unique. So we will continue to adapt our plans to meet the diverse needs of the planet, places and people we serve.
